Host Jeremy C. Park talks with Scott Mann, former U.S. Army Green Beret, President and Founder of Rooftop Leadership, bestselling author and speaker, who highlights his new book, "Nobody is Coming to Save You: A Green Beret's Guide to Getting Big Sh*t Done," which released October 1, 2024. Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Scott Mann is a former U.S. Army Green Beret with combat tours all over the world including Colombia, Iraq, and multiple tours in Afghanistan. He is a warrior storyteller and the President and founder of Rooftop Leadership, a leadership consulting and training company in Tampa, Florida where he shares the rapport-building skills he learned in Special Forces to help today’s leaders make better human connections when stakes are high and trust is low. Scott helps organizations gain a better understanding of their internal culture while exposing the potential for conflict that exists when trust has deteriorated. In the same way he empowered local tribes in Iraq and Afghanistan to make transformative decisions using very few resources, Scott teaches corporate leaders and their teams the relationship-building techniques that drove so many of his successful combat operations.

During the interview, Scott shares how he was inspired at a young age to become a U.S. Army Green Beret and how his combat tour experiences led him to launch Rooftop Leadership to share the lessons learned with business and community leaders across the United States. He discusses some of his experiences and lessons learned as a U.S. Army Green Beret and how those also led him to become a playwright and actor in his play and film about the Afghan War and the unforeseen cost of war on our Veterans called “Last Out: Elegy of a Green Beret." Scott talks about his two previous bestsellers, "Operation Pineapple Express" and "Game Changers, Going Local to Defeat Violent Extremists" and then shares what led him to write, "Nobody is Coming to Save You." He highlights some of the key takeaways for readers and then wraps up with how the new book and his previous two shape his keynote presentations and speaking, along with his perspective for how relationship building, rapport and leadership are needed now more than ever and how community can be the solution for driving positive change.
