In this second episode Asako continues to guide me to discover little-known and surprising places in Tokyo, far from the tumult of the bustling Japanese megalopolis, in a very showa district, that is to say very retro 70s.
Sugamo is a district whose station is located on the Yamanote line. It is full of clothing stores, Japanese cookie shops but also traditional restaurants and very special temples. It deserves its nickname of “Grandmothers’ Harajuku and is well worth walking around for a few hours!
