This video is an introduction to propeller selection for outboard motors. The biggest things to remember are that you need a working tachometer to determine RPMs at wide open throttle so that you can adjust your prop pitch and diameter accordingly. Remember that increasing one inch of pitch will decrease your RPMs about 100-150, and decreasing one inch of pitch will increase your RPMs by 100-150. Using those numbers you can fine tune your propeller to meet the motor’s high RPM range for the health of your motor and optimal all-around performance.
