Let’s explore Kebun Baru Food Centre, one of the oldest food centres in Ang Mo Kio. Built in 1976, this hawker haven was the very first to grace the neighborhood. It has been tantalizing the taste buds of generations of food lovers with their delightful array of local flavors😋🤤

Let’s explore both parts of Kebun Baru Food Centre, 226D & 226H

At 226H, let’s indulge in Ru Lai Vegetarian Food. This popular stall serves different noodle options such as Mee Pok, U-Mian, Kway Teow & Bee Hoon, with ingredients such as mushrooms, vegetables, as well as braised & fried bean curd skin. Their thick, velvety sauces cling to every noodle, every morsel of bean curd skin, leaving you craving for more & loyal customers returning. They start as early as 5:30am so check them out before they sold out for the day😋🤤

Try also Soon Lee Prawn Noodles. This hidden gem has been delighting customers with their comforting bowls of prawn noodles for many years. They serve both dry and soup versions. Their broth is a symphony of pork bones & prawn essence, simmered to perfection. It is sweet, umami & soul-warming. With the dry version, their springy noodles are coated in their house-made chili sauce, a symphony of sweet, umami & mild spice, mixed perfectly with other ingredients such as deshelled prawns, bean sprouts, fish cake slices & pork slices😋🤤

Next, let’s indulge in fresh Soya Bean milk, where every sip is a serenade to simplicity. This humble stall has been delighting locals for years with their velvety stream of freshly pressed soybeans. Each sip cradles your senses, whispering of health and nourishment😋🤤

Let’s head over to 226H to explore more culinary delights😋🤤

Let’s indulge in Hock Kee Wanton Noodle. This popular stall of over 3 decades is run by a dedicated elderly couple. They have been delighting loyal customers with their old school wanton noodles, delicious char siew & dumplings. Their springy ribbons of wanton noodles, bathed in a secret sauce blend & no alkaline aftertaste, is just pure silk on your tongue, leaving you craving for more. Their char siew is a symphony of old-school delight, dancing between lean & juicy. Their wantons are smooth plump parcels of joy, each wanton is a flavor-packed treasure of flavourful pork filling with slightly peppery tone. They also serve Mushroom Chicken Feet Noodle and wanton soup😋🤤

Try also Chye Kee Hainanese Chicken Rice’s succulent, tender chicken that practically melts in your mouth. Chye Kee’s Hainanese chicken is poached to perfection, its skin glistening with a delicate sheen of flavorful oil. Each chicken rice grain is infused with the essence of chicken broth, creating a harmonious symphony of flavor. Their caramelized honey-glazed slices of char siew strike the perfect balance between sweet & savory, leaving you craving more. Chye Kee’s chili sauce is legendary. It’s not too spicy yet dances on your taste buds with a hint of garlic & tanginess. Drizzle it over your chicken for an unforgettable experience😋🤤
