Franci Neely, President of the Friends of the Nantucket Historical Association (2021-2023), and Niles Parker, NHA Gosnell Executive Director, take a tour of the Nantucket Whaling Museum highlighting the most recent acquisition made possible by the "Friends" over the past two years. Highlights include Cranberry Pickers by Eastman Johnson; important works by Elizabeth Rebecca Coffin, Nantucket’s most notable female artist from the turn of the twentieth century; Nantucket decoys, adding this significant genre of folk art to the NHA collections; a perfectly-proportioned child's Windsor chair, ca 1790; a pristine Nantucket travel poster ca. 1925; and Golf Grounds at Nantucket by William Wallace Scott, ca. 1901, depicting the Tupancy Links Golf Club, no longer standing.

The purpose of the "Friends" is to seek significant acquisitions for the collections of the NHA and to contribute to the appropriate housing and/or restoration of those acquisitions. The NHA gratefully acknowledges the support and guidance of the "Friends" over the years and the many significant contributions they have made to the NHA collections.
