The Adams is probably one of the best all round dry flies, I tend to tie the parachute version in different colours but any form of blue/grey dubbing can be used. Make sure that the proportion of the body and tail are correct as are the hackles with the hook gape.

The fly can be fished static or skated across the surface using a floating line. I have had lots of success fishing this fly on rivers and the takes can be very aggressive.
