I noticed that when I started using the Bobbi Brown Moisturizer & Primer, my face started breaking out. After looking up the ingredients, some of them are comedogenic and clog your pores.

A few of the comedogenic ingredients are:

1. Cyclopentasiloxane – It’s a silicone that forms a barrier on the skin. It’s generally non-comedogenic, but for some individuals, silicones can trap oil and debris, potentially leading to clogged pores.

2. Cetyl Alcohol – it’s a fatty alcohol that is moisturizing, but some people with acne-prone skin may find it clogs pores. It’s not universally comedogenic, but if you have sensitive skin, it’s something to consider.

3. Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) – I love Shea butter. It’s a rich emollient which means it soothes, softens, and moisturizes the skin. But it can be comedogenic for people with oily or acne-prone skin.

4. Squalane – Typically, it’s a non-comedogenic ingredient and very moisturizing, but in some rare cases, it can cause breakouts depending on how sensitive your skin is.

5. Dimethicone Crosspolymer – This is another silicone-based ingredient that can form a barrier on your skin. Like other silicones, it may cause clogged pores for some people with sensitive skin.

Bobbi Brown’s website also said that "the ingredient lists may change or vary from time to time" and recommend we "refer to the ingredient list on the product package for the most up to date list of ingredients." Hopefully they develop a formula that is just as effective without the pore clogging properties.
