In this improved tutorial, I am showing how to wrap copper foil around glass pieces evenly.

I am using 3/16" black-backed foil from Ed Hoy's International. Venture makes a good brand as well.
I recommend using 3/16" for most stained glass brands. Thicker foil leads to wide solder seams, using more solder than necessary. If you are 1. making larger 3D items, like lampshades, OR have glass thicker than 1/8" move up to 7/32." 1/4" foil is waaaaay too wide, in my opinion.
