Cheng Peng and Yang Jin represented China in pair skating at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. Cheng Peng is 24 years old at the time, had previously competed in the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics with her former partner, Zhang Hao. Yang Jin on the other hand is 27 years old, partnered with Cheng Peng in 2016 after her split from Zhang Hao.

This competition was particularly important for Peng and Jin as it was their first Olympic Games together. They had shown strong potential in the years leading up to the Games, having won several medals at Grand Prix events and being among China’s top pairs. The Beijing Games held special significance for them as it was a home Olympics. They earned a total score of 76.10 points, which placed them in 5th position going into the free skate.
