If you are stitching small dots close together in free motion embroidery, it can be difficult to cut the threads close if there is no slack in the thread; there is no room to fit your scissors into a small gap. This technique will help you with this problem by showing you how I leave the threads long by dragging out the top thread with a pin, this means you can pull the threads tight away from your work and then you can cut the thread close to our work.
