After the grandiosity of the Exodus from Mitzrayim/#Egypt, in the Wilderness, we are tried, our hearts examined and our Emunah/#faith (or lack thereof) exposed. In the wilderness, idolatry is manifested through the recklessness of our eyes and mouths revealing the sordidness of our impure desires, covetousness, and even looking with longing, like Lot’s wife, to return to that from which we were delivered. For this, and by this, we cursed ourselves and lost access to the Promised Land. A Cautionary Tale, indeed.
