Watch an insider's perspective on the race to save native species in the bird extinction capital of the world — Hawaiʻi.

Without bold and immediate action, up to 12 species of endemic Hawaiian honeycreepers could go extinct in just a matter of years. One of the greatest threats these birds face is invasive mosquitoes, which transmit avian malaria and have already contributed to the extinction of several birds.

A multi-agency partnership with nongovernmental organizations, known as Birds, Not Mosquitoes, is working to save these birds and prevent this huge ecological and cultural loss.

In this webinar, you'll learn more about the natural and cultural history of Hawaiian birds, the threats they currently face, and what conservationists are doing to save them from extinction.
