Haven’t been to Florida in over 30 years and have never been to Miami. My first flight to Miami International Airport (MIA) did NOT disappoint. West traffic flow allowed for a birds-eye view of MIA while on downwind (despite the scattered clouds) and the base turn and final approach over the water and coastline was spectacular! The water was absolutely beautiful. This quite possibly could be my favorite landing of all (So far.) Being an avgeek, the variety of airlines at MIA was also fun to see as many of the int’l carriers that serve MIA do not come to DFW.
