In this video i will talk of my choice for a surplus rucksack for overnight camping /woodscraft /bushcraft . The most common surplus rucksack you fine is the u.s.army medium Alice pack .For many years i carried that pack and will be doing a video on it in the near future.
My rucksack of choice for woodscraft / bushcraft use is the German army surplus alpine rucksack. Often you see these rucksacks on sale from Sportsmans guide or other online military surplus sites at a good price. they come both in o.d. green canvas as well as o.d. green condura . I have found this rucksack to be a great choice for field gear and overnight camping. the size of the pack holds enough camping gear for a 72+ hours in the woods.
the fit and design carried very well with the 25 to 35 pound loads common in over night campouts in spring /summer.
