It's a great privilege to be joined on this week's episode of Dumb Money by Sohaib Ashraf! Sohaib is an Islamic Finance Portfolio Manager and content creator, but he didn't start his career with that in mind...

After two summer internship programs at Lloyd's and KPMG, he moved to London in 2020, and started his career in corporate finance as an analyst. A few years later, he realised that he could learn more by building something, so he left his corporate job and joined the founding team of a Web3 startup. With Sohaib being a Muslim, he then started to feel more strongly about doing something for his community, so he met Ibrahim Khan and joined IslamicFinanceGuru and Cur8 Capital as a portfolio manager!

Islamic Finance is a subject we've wanted to cover on the show for so long, and so we'll be going through some common misconceptions as well as some emerging trends in current markets. But before all of that, we start on how Sohaib first got into corporate finance and how that helped him with his more unique ventures in the future! And, of course, not forgetting to touch on some relevant tips for students like us! 💰
