Monkey Mountain Nature Preserve is located in between Grain Valley, MO and Oak Grove, MO at 34908 E RD Mize Rd, Oak Grove, MO 64075. The Parking area is just east of Sni-A-Bar Creek on the north side of Mize Rd. The first mile or so of trail take you on the west side of Monkey Mountain. There is a short off shoot trail that you can take to the “summit” of Monkey Mountain, which is just a large pasture. The trails were pretty rough and most of this video was shot off trail. The trails seemed to disappear and reappear so it seems it has been a while since they have been cleaned up. I rather enjoyed the adventure of exploring and finding my own adventure but I know this wouldn’t be for everyone. I ended up hiking around 3.5 miles in a loop connecting some trails I came upon hiking off trail.
