Welcome Back to Lodge Life!
On this episode we are joining Peter Kornacki as he guides our August group of guests in and around Rivers Inlet, British Columbia Canada.
He's taken the GoPro out with him to capture all the moments that make up his days with different groups.
August up here at the cannery is known as "Hogust" as the vicious hogs are now biting at the head. Our lodge releases all the Chinook Salmon it catches unless they are bleeders. These fish can get upwards of 80 lbs! The record for this season was a 62.
Peter will also take his guests into Fitz Hugh Sound to fish for coho and sometimes to the west side of Calvert Island. A place we call "the dark side", to fish for bottom fish like Halibut and Ling Cod.

He has a long day after guiding since first light, to cutting, cleaning, packing and freezing the fish, to cleaning and feeling his boat before he eats dinner at 6:30pm.
He then will present the guests with coins and hat pins if they released a Tyee. Fish talk happens after guest dinner at 7:30 pm and involves the awards and an update on tomorrow's plans and forecast.

I hope you enjoyed this video! If you did, be sure to share with a friend!
Thanks so much for watching and take care until next time!
