Lock it Link was almost certainly the answer to Aristocrat's insanely popular Lightning Link and it's a great series of games, including Lock It Link Night Life, Piggy Bankin', Hold Onto Your Hat and of course Huff N' Puff and my favorite Huff N' More Puff! One could argue, the Lock It Link family of slots has even surpassed Lightning Link!

In Lock It Link Diamonds, Light & Wonder's version of the Hold & Spin Feature is called the "Lock It Feature" and is initiated by landing between 3 and 5 heart symbols on a single row. These symbols can either have a credit award on them or a Progressive. During this feature you start with 3, 4 or 5 spins depending on how many hearts you initially landed and the individual reel positions spin allowing for more hearts to land and if they do they become sticky for the remainder of the bonus. If they land adjacent to at least two other hearts, they become "locked" and your spins are reset to their starting number. This continues until you don't land bonus symbols adjacent to at least two other bonus symbols or you Fill the Screen, at which point 2x your total bet is added to each heart. After each "lock" that occurs where your spins reset, each heart's value also increases by your total bet, so ideally, you'd just land one heart on each spin adjacent to your initial locking set, for maximum return!

The Free Games Bonus is initiated by landing bonus symbols scattered on reels 2, 3 and 4 to award 6 free spins which use an alternate set of reels with additional hearts added giving you an, ahem, easier chance to land the Lock It Link Feature.

Finally, wild symbols may land on reels 2, 3 and 4: these symbols are taller than standard symbols and if any portion lands on the reels, they nudge to turn the reel fully wild. Wins are achieved by landing the same symbols on at least 3 adjacent reels from left to right, starting with the leftmost reel.
