Last thirty seconds: cut off again by the GoPro app. Just a nod to those who held their ground "at all hazards" - in this battle, other battles at Gettysburg, and other battles in general. This is a feat that summons the courage of extraordinary men. It's easy for us, in our armchair, to quarterback the plays from the vantage point of 2024. Much harder to put ourselves in their shoes (or lack thereof).

Anyway, it was just thrilling to be at this grand reopening.

Almost like the first time.

Got so sick of looking across Plum Run from Devil's Den, hearing the earth moving equipment, watching the occasional trespassers. Now, at last, we can all enjoy one of the park's most vaunted sites - thanks to the good men and women of the National Park Service (NPS).
