This free video tutorial will show you how to make your own gorgeous sphere footed coffee table with beginner friendly DIY steps! We were inspired to make this for our tinyhouse when we spotted a stunning coffee table online with a hefty price tag of over $2000! So we created our own with recycled and everyday objects for less than $40!

Supplies: (links below if you don't have some of these on hand)
- matte white acrylic paint (cheap house paint is fine)
- Sienna color, and a darker color acrylic paint (we used black that we had)
- a bucket of tile glue
- cement
- extra strong industrial glue from hardware store
- small pot of matte clear varnish (I use a kind for parquet floors)
- 3 balls (ours cost less than $10 for all 3 at our local beach shop)
- an old round wood coffee table (search flea markets, internet sites that sell used objects)

Industrial glue: https://amzn.to/44VySqV

Sienna paint (I couldn't find the exact drops I used but you can add a few spoons of this paint until you get a similar color as mine): https://amzn.to/43CXG5M
Plastic balls (you will need 2 packs to get 4 balls - you only need 3 balls though so gift one or save it for another project): https://amzn.to/3KtnDhJ

Begin by applying 2 coats of 1 part matte white paint + 1 part tile glue to the table top
Prime the balls with 1 coat of this mixture so that the cement will adhere well.
Mix cement and "paint" it onto the balls, repeat 3 to 4 times until the balls feel very solid, letting each layer of cement dry for at least 24 hours.
Prepare the mix for creating a stone look: Mix 1 part white paint, 1 part varnish, 1 part water. Add a few drops of Sienna color. Working small areas at a time, sponge the table top and the balls surfaces with lots of water. Apply the paint wash by dipping brush in then drag across the wet surfaces. Blot with a folded paper accordion. Separate a cupful of the wash and add some darker drops of paint. With a paintbrush splash speckles onto the surface (both sienna color and darker color). Continue blotting with paper to create the stone look. Repeat the process until you are satisfied with the look.

Once dry you can assemble with the industrial glue. We tried to methods and the one that worked best was to place the balls on the floor, apply glue generously and to place table top down on them. Wear disposable gloves because this got really messy and took me hours to get the industrial glue unstuck from my hands ...hahaha.
