The African American spiritual tradition of Hoodoo was passed down to Mama Yana through her family line for generations. In this video she discusses Hoodoo’s rich culture, customs, traditions, ancestral veneration and core values. Hoodoo has its roots in ancestral traditions from Africa. In this video Mama Yana draws parallels between the two and shows us how to recognize the similarities. This conversation takes us on a beautiful journey into the power and healing Hoodoo has always had on our communities from the deep south of the United States on up to the Northern areas where it migrated along with its devotees. So many wonderful jewels are shared by Mama Yana, who is also a Priestess of Oshun in the Orisha tradition, you’ll want to watch to the very end.
