HINUNANGAN, SOUTHERN LEYTE, PHILIPPINES: At the end of a hot, tiring and exhausting day exploring the province of Hinunangan in Southern Leyte, I was in need of refreshment. After a 3 week tireless search for this popular, yet elusive local tipple Kulafu, my hunt was finally over. As I enter this underwhelming community, I am greeted by the happy and friendly locals, who appear surprised to find a white man with his camera, appear in their midst. As dusk descends, join me as I finally get to sample Kulafu, a 50 proof herbal wine, popular with locals in the Philippines provinces; and we enjoy the company of this welcoming and happy community.
