In this episode, I explored two traditional markets in urban Chongqing, China. One is the Happiness Flowers and Trees World located in the southern part of the city, and the other is near the Changsheng Bridge Subway Station.

Happiness Flowers and Trees World was originally a flower and fish market but later developed into a lifestyle market. This market has delicious roasted goose, shredded roast duck, braised goose, spicy fried chicken, spicy pork delicacies, braised beef, five-spice dried tofu, tofu pudding, pork buns, and traditional handmade maltose. Most of the food is full of rich Chongqing spicy flavors; Chongqing truly lives up to its reputation as a place where people can't live without spicy food. During the summer holidays, many children visit this market with adults, creating a very joyful atmosphere.

The market near the Changsheng Bridge Subway Station has vendors making various convenient and delicious breakfasts at the subway entrance, such as filled rice cakes, pork and egg mini burgers, and baked flatbreads. These are very popular among commuters and students. Besides these freshly made breakfast items, there are freshly made chili sauces, fried pork, and many vendors selling vegetables and fruits. The market is filled with the sounds of vendors shouting and people haggling, creating a vibrant market life atmosphere.
