I share my experience of the Taiwan earthquake from Taipei. On Wednesday, 3rd April 2024, Taiwan was struck by a significant earthquake centered in Hualien, a coastal city renowned for its stunning natural beauty. The earthquake, with a magnitude of 7.4, rocked the region, causing substantial damage to buildings, roads, and infrastructure. Hualien's famous Taroko Gorge, a popular tourist destination, experienced landslides and rockfalls, altering its landscape dramatically. The quake resulted in casualties and injuries, prompting swift emergency response efforts from local authorities and relief organizations.
