Looking to improve your snowboard jibbing? This is an easy DIY snowboard box that was super easy to build.

My son is 5 years old at the time of making this video and he loves snowboarding. It’s not easy to get to the ski hill on a regular basis to practice snowboarding so I decided to build a homemade snowboard box for our backyard.

Making a snowboard box is easy and here are the materials I used. All materials can be purchased at a local hardware store such as The Home Depot.

Snowboard Box Material
(4) lengths cut to 95-3/16”
(12) lengths cut to 9”
(8) lengths cut to 12-⅞
(1) Sheet of 8’ x 4’ x ⅜” Plywood
(1) Sheet of 8’ x 4’ x 1/4” HDPE
#8 x 2-½” Screws
#10 x 3” Screws
#8 x ¾” Screws
#8 x 1-½” Screws
Silicone (Exterior)

If you are looking for how to build a snowboard box to practice your snowboard box tricks, this video shows you step by step how to build a HDPE snowboard box. HDPE is high-density polyethylene and is an excellent top surface to practice your snowboard jibbing. This is the material they use on snowboard boxes in most parks.

A snowboard box is a great beginner tool for snowboarders before you build a DIY snowboard rail as it will be easier to use and will improve balance for when you do build a backyard snowboard rail.

Building a snowboard box for your backyard is easy and a great addition to a backyard snowboard park.

If you or your kids are looking to practice their snowboard box jibs I recommend building this to practice at home. Building a snowboard box is an awesome project that is easy and if you have young kids they can help out.

All the snowboard equipment and snowsuits in this video are Burton.
