Unen is an international award-winning multidisciplinary artist working as a composer, director, and writer. After earning his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Bogazici University, he launched his artistic career by making music for movies and TV series, such as Berlin In Berlin and Yarin Artik Bugundur. The song Esrefoglu Al Haberi, from one of his most prominent works, Lost Songs of Anatolia, was featured in the Oscar-nominated film Mustang.

Lost Songs of Anatolia is a project consisting of a feature film, album, and live performance, that made a significant impact on the cultural scene of Turkey. Upon this success, TRT invited Unen to make his own TV show called O Şarkılar.

Among his works are albums he produced, such as Ozcan Deniz’s Ses ve Ayrilik and Yasak Elma’s Kara Buyu. Unen's solo album Karnaval included Cingene Yuregim, and Karnaval, two of the major hits of the 90s. He also made several jingles for brands like Pepsi besides TV and radio Station Ids for Atv, Super FM, and Metro FM. 

Unen wrote, produced, and directed the romantic drama feature Blue Lodge. He has several complete and work-in-progress screenplays in his portfolio, including Remaking Martin, which is also globally published as a novel.
