Working as an IT Support Technician I frequently have to copy and clone computer hard drives. In this video we use the free software "Clonezilla" to copy the disk image from one laptop to another. Similar programs include Acronis True Image, Norton Ghost (a very old program), Aomei Backupper, EaseUS Todo Backup, and Microsoft's own built-in Windows Image Backup tools. Other methods include hardware based disk duplicators. Creating a "baseline image" can help with rapidly provisioning laptops which can then be assigned to your users.

Disk imaging has many additional functions, including making a complete backup copy of your PC that can be stored in the cloud or off-site, in the event of disaster recovery (ranging from a hard drive crash to computer virus).
