About the Speaker:
Dr. Kusumlata Kedia, a proponent of indigenous economic consciousness, became a professor at Kashi University in 1980. When she compared the ideas of prominent economists with the ground realities, she observed discrepancies. Hence, she chose this as the subject of her research. In 1984, she earned her doctorate from Kashi University. She presented this study in her book ‘Genetic Assumptions of Development Theory’. She co-authored ‘Gandhi Ji and Christianity’ with Prof. Rameshwar Mishra ‘Pankaj’ and independently wrote books such as 'The Woman Question – Penetration of Christian Mentality in Hindu Society', 'Femininity – Conceptions and Reality', 'Vision Defect, So How is it an Alternative?', 'Image of Women in Gandhi's Philosophy', 'View and Status of Women', 'Non-violent Concept of Economic Prosperity', 'Civilizational Context', and others. Since 1992, she has been a professor of sociology and the senior-most faculty member at the Gandhi Vidya Sansthan, Varanasi. Additionally, she is associated with numerous institutions like the Indian Council of Philosophical Research, the Indian Council of Social Science Research, the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (Shimla), and the Rta: Hindu Vidya Kendra.

वक्ता परिचय:
स्वदेशी अर्थचेतना की संवाहक डॉ. कुसुमलता केडिया का 1980 में वे काशी विश्वविद्यालय में प्राध्यापक हो गयीं | जब वे बड़े अर्थशास्त्रियों के विचारों की तुलना धरातल के सच से करतीं, तो उन्हें वहां विसंगतियां दिखाई देतीं थीं. अतः उन्होंने इसे ही अपने शोध का विषय बना लिया. 1984 में उन्होंने काशी विश्वविद्यालय से ‘डॉक्टर’ की उपाधि प्राप्त की. यह अध्ययन उन्होंने अपनी पुस्तक ‘जेनेटिक एसम्पशन्स ऑफ डेवलेपमेंट थ्योरी’ में प्रस्तुत किया. उन्होंने प्रो. रामेश्वर मिश्र ‘पंकज’ के साथ ‘गांधी जी और ईसाइयत’ तथा स्वतन्त्र रूप से स्त्री प्रश्न – हिन्दू समाज में पैठती ईसाई मानसिकता, स्त्रीत्व – धारणायें एवं यथार्थ, दृष्टि दोष तो विकल्प कैसे ? गांधी दर्शन में स्त्री की छवि, स्त्री सम्बन्धी दृष्टि एवं स्थिति, आर्थिक समृद्धि की अहिंसक अवधारणा, सभ्यागत संदर्भ आदि पुस्तकें लिखीं.1992 से वे गांधी विद्या संस्थान, वाराणसी में समाजशास्त्र की प्राध्यापक एवं वरिष्ठतम संकाय सदस्य हैं. इसके साथ ही वे भारतीय दर्शन अनुसंधान परिषद, भारतीय सामाजिक विज्ञान अनुसंधान परिषद, भारतीय उच्च अध्ययन संस्थान (शिमला), ऋत: हिन्दू विद्या केन्द्र जैसी अनेक संस्थाओं से जुड़ी हैं.
