Water makes a remarkable journey through 900 miles of diverse landscapes, human-made infrastructure, trout streams, mountains, prairies, and braided rivers in the Platte River Basin. This watershed drains 90,000 square miles of surface water coming from mountain snowpack, pumped ancient fossil water, and precipitation. It's once wild and meandering channels are now heavily altered. This river system continues to support us through the Great Plains agricultural powerhouse, nourishes entire communities, and serves as critical habitat for thousands of species. We all rely on water.
