This workbench is 2x4 construction with 3/4” melanin top. The bottom of workbench has storage areas are made up of 1/2” plywood. I used 2 1/2 inch SPAX screws. Like I mentioned in video, I need this to be a hybrid type workbench that I can move around (my garage is truly a garage and not a workshop). Dust collection was also important even though I do most of my work outside.
It is also important to note, I am a hobbyist, a very average “woodworker”. I probably would have used a different wood (more stable) if I needed extremely small tolerances for professional results in whatever I was building with this workbench (i.e. cabinets). I would NOT purchase wood and let it sit. Buying wood from big box stores has a lot of moisture in it. Living in Phoenix means that wood warps in just 24 hours from leaving store. The day you build, buy the wood that morning (it would have save me a lot of time).
