Comparing to every other year, I only had around 10 uploads in 2023, the most invaluable year in my life so far - in terms of getting into a university, being able to see what is better or worse for me by various stuff and bla bla. Despite all of this, the thing that has to do with this limited amount of uploads is the gap between January and April, in which two enormous earthquakes occured... One year ago today, this exact date and this exact hour the video became public: February 6th, 4.17 AM.

I made this demo last year, thinking that I, at least, should have something to tell people I'm kinda okay... Or, you know, healthy enough to survive if things go wrong in my area as well. Let alone a video, though, I had no idea what I was doing in those months: Couldn't even study well until things had to go on, or was trying to talk to some friends and meeting up with them to buy some provisions and send those to the earthquake zone, helping them in a possible way... And suddenly, I was in... May... as if time already flying since 2020 isn't enough.

My home is like 200 kilometers away from that earthquake zone which included 11 cities at the start and 6 were added later on, one of them being my hometown. My home, however and thankfully, didn't get really affected by one of them but I tell you what:.. When you know what it is, it is the scariest thing you could ever witness. If you don't, nevertheless, still, just don't do what I've done that night - sitting down on my bed and watching the chandelier in my room swaying.

Literally the first snow of that winter... From the thoughts of what to do on a snow holiday to a complete disaster... More than 100k people died in those... More than 10 million people felt the quakes under their feet and maybe up on their heads with whatever they were inside of... Or maybe... just couldn't.

I, personally, just know that what I feel about those earthquakes... both inside and outside of me... will never be enough to understand what the people there felt.
My prayers are with them and their loved ones to this day and onwards.

Giden 100 binden fazla can hâlâ aynı can... Başta 11, sonra 17 şehir olan deprem bölgesindeki 10 milyondan fazla insan...

Niğde de eklenen şehirlerden biri olduğuna göre sanırım ben de bu kocaman sayının içindeyim ama şunun kesinlikle farkındayım: O günlerde ne içimden ne de dışımdan hissettiklerim Kahramanmaraş'taki, Hatay'daki, Adıyaman'daki, Osmaniye'deki, Gaziantep'teki, Şanlıurfa'daki, Malatya'daki, Diyarbakır'daki, Adana'daki, Kilis'teki ve Elazığ'daki bir insan ile... asla bir olmayacak.

Bu demoyu geçen sene o zamanlarda kendi hayat endişem ve üzüntüm içerisinde yaptım. Hiçbir şey paylaşamadığım Ocak ve Nisan ayları arasında en azından sağlığımın iyi olduğunu belirtmek için kullanabileceğimi düşündüğüm bir demoydu bu. Ha ne oldu: Bir baktım Mayıs'tayız. YKS'ye 1 ay var. COVID'ten beri zamanın hızla aktığı yetmemiş gibi...

O kışın ilk karı... kar tatili verilmiş. O kar bir anda çocukların içinde koşuşturacağı, kardan adamların dikilip kartopunun oynanacağı bir kardan milyonlarca evsizin, barksızın, belki de bir gecede kimsesizleşenlerin ya dışarıda ya da bir enkazın altında; soğuğuyla, ayazıyla tiril tiril titreten bir kara dönüştü.
Şu an odamdaki avize... sallantıya uyandıktan sonra saniyeler boyunca o avizenin kendi etrafında nasıl dönüp durduğunu izlediğimi hatırlıyorum. Bir deprem coğrafyasında olup da depremi daha önce hayatında hiç yaşamamış biri olarak... bir yere çöküp kapanmak, aileme seslenmeye gitmek aklıma gelmeden... yatağıma oturup o avizeyi öylece izlediğimi hatırlıyorum.

Unuttum mu... Hayır. Unutacak mıyım... Asla.
