This video demonstrates the image quality of the Firewire DV converters. I used the Canopus ADVC 110 but any Firewire DV converter will work. Most FireWire camcorders can capture VHS and Hi 8 tapes. I have left a link below to a video that is a tutorial for VHS and Hi 8 video capture.
