Saturday 21st January 2023 was a big day for ex-CIÉ Wickham railcar No. 713, which finally emerged from the workshop under its own power after a protracted restoration. The railcar was used as an inspection car by the permanent way department until its withdrawal and transfer to DCDR over 20 years ago.

713, known affectionately as 'Rosie' has been pending restoration for many years, and recently saw an almost single handed restoration by volunteer David Smyth over the last number of years. Rosie will now undergo test running, debugging and crew training before entering our 'p-way' fleet.
