From 1951 to 1992, the Nevada desert was home to one of America's largest nuclear weapons testing sites. At the height of the cold war with Russia (USSR), the US government was more concerned with developing the most destructive devices possible than with the safety of the local population. Locals who lived nearby during that time recount the effects of nuclear fallout.
