Starting to learn landscape painting can be overwhelming in the beginning. In this video I go through the process of painting "Arms of Eternity" and break down the unique challenges that came with this piece.

Every painting comes with it's own challenges and when you're starting out I don't recommend trying to master everything at once.

Everything in this video might not be applicable to your own painting but it's good to practice verbalizing these problem areas as that will help you identify them in your own work too. Try to always frame the issue around your own goals with the painting. What do you you want to communicate or how do you want the viewer to feel?

Before the work is done I try to answer at least one of those questions.
Of course the appeal of some paintings is the questions themselves.
