The Ministry of Health, in collaboration with Moroto district authorities, has launched a three-day measles vaccination campaign across the district following a measles outbreak declared on June 18th this year. The district has reported 113 cumulative cases and four deaths so far.
Moroto District Health Officer Dr. James Lemukol described the outbreak as an imported epidemic from Turkana, Kenya. He highlighted the challenge of cross-border movements between Turkana in Kenya and the sub-counties of Rupa and Lotisan in Moroto.
