A fixed piece on the end of the oscillating shaft had to be cut away before gearbox disassembly. The gearbox had no apparent fault and it is still unreliable. One of the batteries had leaked, but the electronics work (without the gearbox). Motor driver IC is TC117HS and the processor is under a black blob. This could be the original style from 2015 as it only has a single button on it's head.
