Fall is a short season in Alaska, nonetheless crisp days fill the air and vibrant leaves create a colorful landscape. With freezing temperatures the growing season comes to a halt and we embrace the wood stove for the beauty and warmth it provides.

We clean up the yard, protect the fruit trees with vole guards and prepare the beehives for the upcoming winter with candy boards, quilt boxes, and extra insulation. We end the night with a lovely harvest of brussel sprouts for a fresh meal at the cabin.
