Every morning you wake up, 8 things are asked of you! / Kerem Önder

* On the way back to his house after the morning prayer, Hazrat Imam-i Shafi, encountered someone on the way. After Imam- Shafi first greeted him and made good wishes and prayers, "How did you get up in the morning?" he said in the meaning of "good morning" to him. The Imam explains how he wakes up in the morning as follows: I woke up thinking eight things had been asked of me: The man is surprised and asked: "Who can ask for 8 things from the Imam? You don't have a job with anyone?" The imam opens the matter with a smile:

He says, "Look, what they want from me every morning" and explains as follows:

1) My Lord wants fard (obligatory duties) from me
2) The Messenger of Allah asks me to practice his sunnah
3) The family and children want the daily expenses
4) The nafs (bad desires) wants me to subordinate it
5) Satan (the devil) wants me to go after him
6) Kiraman Katibeen angels want me to do the good
7) The days passing want me to grow old
8) Finally, Hazrat Azrael wants me to be ready.
Here I am as the addressee of all these requests. These questions await answers every morning. The man who listens to the Hazrat Imam starts to think. After a few seconds of contemplation, he asks: Are these things asked only to you, or are they also requested from me?" The imam smiles and says: "I don't know that part, you think!"
