The newspaper Panorama revealed the fraudulent mechanism that the president of the Unified Council of Electricity Distribution Companies, Celso Marranzini, allegedly carries out through companies that he owns camouflaged to do business with the Government to buy energy to resell it to the EDES, whose contract was signed with the Dominican Hydroelectric Generation Company (EGEHID).

Among the companies highlighted by the newspaper Panorama, there is Multiparques, with a renewable energy contract signed only for this year 2024 and other companies to which the EGEHID sells energy.

Celso Marranzini allegedly signed the contract a few days after taking office as president of the Unified Council of Electricity Distribution Companies, which for sectors of society is counterproductive that an official who is also the administrator of the Punta Calina plants and vice president of the electrical cabinet since 2020, allegedly uses fraudulent mechanisms as stipulated by the newspaper Panorama, to camouflage his companies and negotiate energy with the state and sell it to the EDES.

Marranzini, a sheikh of the electrical sector, made his ties unnoticed by the State Procurement and Contracting Directorate chaired by Carlos Pimentel, according to the newspaper Panorama.
