This week's video I'm taking you to the Chippawa National Forest. I was searching on Google Maps when I found a small lake near a hiking trail. From the satellite images it looked like either a canoe drop-off point or possible campsite. There were no marked off road trails through the woods, but I could tell some kind of path was going through the trees. I'm thankful I brought along the Sawzall. I had to remove a number of low hanging obstructions. I didn't record my drive into the woods because I really didn't think I would find a spot. I assumed I would be driving for a few more hours and have plenty of opportunities to get good shots.
I don't know what it was about this spot, but it was one of my favorites. This place had an amazing light feeling. It was super welcoming. I felt at home while I was there. I will be back with a kayak this spring to find the rainbow trout. I'm already looking forward to smoking a few above the campfire. I know some people asked If I would do a spooky style video for Halloween, but I don't have time to plan anything. I take pride in the fact that my videos are exactly what anyone would experience while going camping in Northern Minnesota over the weekend. I'm super lucky to have you following along on this little adventures.
I almost forgot......I looked at making an affiliate account through Amazon. I already ran into a roadblock. I'll have my girls help me out with it. I'm not from the computer generation. I graduated in the mid 90's before computers took off. I never had an email until collage and never had a need for a home computer. Anyone who knows me thinks it's amazing that I even figured out how to upload a video. Once I do have affiliate links, I'll be posting them.
