The first season of 100 Girlfriends aired from October to December 2023. Following its conclusion, the anime's official media announced a second season, releasing a 30-second teaser and an illustration made by the character designer Akane Yano to celebrate.

The teaser recaps iconic moments from the first season, including Rentaro's journey to acquiring six girlfriends, while the illustration shows Rentaro and his partners happily together and in June 2024, it was announced at a special event that the second season would premiere in January 2025.
