ELEkTRA it's a large ensemble project whose music is meant to unveil the complexity of ancient greek female characters’ profiles from both mythology and history as well as the conflicting interpretations history and literature have given about them.
Dead Butterfly is the first single released (21Sound) by this ensemble as part of the forthcoming album: ELEkTRA.
The tune is dedicated to the modern and revisited version
of Penelope (in Homer's Odyssey): Molly Bloom from Joyce's Ulysses.
Her articulated and bursting monologue at the end of the novel represented an inspiration not only for music writing, but above all for the desire to perpetrate a social message that aims to point out how many old stereotypes about female gender have survived.
*one section of the tune quotes a part of the final monologue of
Molly Bloom in James Joyce's Ulysses.
