Pachmarhi, Only Hill station of Madhya Pradesh is part of Satpura hill range.We travelled to Pachmarchi from Bhopal, spent 3 days there and had great time enjoying the scenic views and natural bio diversity of this region.

Date of Journey - 13th & 14th May 2024
Following are the activities done by us after reaching Pachmarchi.

Bee Falls - We started our day in Pachmarhi by visiting the Bee Falls. We took a Gypsy from Bison Lodge & travelled around 4 km to reach Bee Falls.

Bee Fall is an evergreen waterfall in Pachmarhi and remains accessible throughout the year. The height of this waterfall is about 150 feet.

Bee Falls Timings - 9 am - 5 pm

Gypsy Charge - Rs 1400 (If you want Gypsy for a full day then it is Rs 2000)

Forest Entry Charge - Rs 250

Guide Charges - Rs 480

Champak Lake - After this we visited “Champak Lake”. It was a beautiful natural lake surrounded by greenery. Here you can enjoy boating & other Adventure activities as well.

Speed Boat Charge - Rs 100
Pedal Boat Charge - Rs 200

Rajendra Giri Udyan - Then we travelled around 3 km from Champak Lake & Visited the “Rajendra Giri Udyan”. This place is also very famous among the Tourists for the Sunset.

We got a little late & couldn’t see the Sunset properly but overall it was a great experience to come to this place.

Jain Ayurvedic - We were exploring the markets of Pachmarhi & found here a very old shop “Jain Ayurvedic”. They have a great collection of Ayurvedic supplements. We purchased Honey & Chawyanprash from this shop.

After this we back to our Hotel & ended our day

Next Day - 14th May 2024

Breakfast Laxman Hotel - We started our day in the morning from the Jawahar Chowk & had our breakfast at the “Laxman Hotel”.

We had Poha & Jalebi in the Breakfast.

Poha - Rs 30
Jalebi - Rs 10

Jatashankar Temple - Then we visited the Jatashankar Temple. This Temple is a Cave Temple & dedicated to Lord Shiva.It is a beautiful limestone cave comprising stalactites and stalagmites that look like the matted hair of Lord Shiva, hence named Jata Shankar Cave.

Besides, the ceiling of this famous shrine has a formation that closely resembles the mythological hundred-headed snake Seshnag.

Jatashankar Temple Timings - 9 am - 7 pm

Bison Lodge Museum - After this we visited the Bison Lodge Museum & learn about the history of Pachmarhi.

Pandav Caves - Then we travelled around 2 km & visited the “Pandav Caves”. It is believed that the five Pandava Caves were carved by the Pandavas. It is said that the Pandava brothers carved one cave each, as a place of shelter during their 13 years of exile.

Lunch at Rasoi Dhaba - We had lunch at Rasoi Dhaba & met Ram Bhai who is a Local guide of Pachmarhi. We had Veg Angara & Chana Masala in the Lunch.

Overall the food & the ambience of this Restaurant were great.

Handi Khoh - After Lunch we visited “Handi Khoh” - Handi got the name as it has the shape of a pot. It is a canyon or ravine inside the Pachmarhi forest region. It falls from a height of 300 ft and has a rugged rock or cliff around it.

Gypsy Hire - We Hire a Gypsy for Reechgarh & Dhoopgarh from the Bison Lodge.

Reechgarh - Then we reached Reechgarh & visited this huge cave. We saw here the beautiful rock formations.

The name Reechgarh, locals believe, comes from the caves that were once populated by a large number of reech (sloth bears).

Timings: 8 AM - 6 PM
Last entry in Forest - 3:30 pm

Sunset Dhoopgarh - We travelled around for 30 mins & reached Dhoopgarh for the Sunset. Dhoopgarh is famous for its sunrise & sunset.

We experienced an amazing sunset here. Overall it was great to come to this place.

Haat Bazar - After this we visited Haat Bazar, but here we couldn’t shoot the video because there is no electricity in the region.

After this, we ended our day
