I loved the song “I Guess It’s American” from the Rock Solider EP the first time I heard it. For those who don’t know, the song was co-written by Superdrag’s John Davis and the late Adam Schlesinger from Fountains of Wayne (and Tinted Windows!). Anyway, one day about 20 years ago, I had this undeniably dopey idea to make a video of myself in a ninja costume and at the end fulfilling the last lines of the song — “Let’s get drunk with Harrison / Mic Harrison” (which many you may know of his work as a member of the V-Roys, as a member of Superdrag, with The Faults, and with The High Score).

I had an idea for the majority of the video of me going to concerts in a ninja outfit, having a good time rocking, getting made fun of, or other concert activities. “It’s embarrassing / I guess it’s American” was the mentality. The thought was that it would all be self-shot on my Sony HandyCam on a tripod or handheld (way before selfies were a big thing).

Well, the fleeting project was never fully completed. But of all the footage taken, the best parts were the parts filmed at Mic Harrison’s house. So although it was never completed, here is a fraction of the video footage that may actually be worth viewing… at least for Mic Harrison (or non-authentic ninja) fans.
