We set out to ride 40 miles but Max bent his shift lever and Gavin put a hole in his KTM's radiator hose around 20 miles into the ride. Luckily we all carry enough tools. We electrical taped the hole area, reinforced it with a few zip ties, filled up his radiator with water and set his radiator cap to the half open notch so the system wouldn't build pressure. We shortened the ride so we could get the KTM back in one piece and still ended up with 32 miles of fun, rocky at times single track. This was the first ride on my new YZ250X with the bike being set up for me and I'm really impressed. I was searching for an simple old school moto type motorcycle for single track and this fits that bill but it has a lot of modern bonuses like the aluminum frame, controls, awesome KYB suspension and the famous and timeless YZ250 motor. The mornings are cooling off nicely, Arizona summer heat may be slipping away and that means more opportunity to ride motorcycles.
