Introduction to Toroidal Transformer.

A toroidal transformer is a special type of transformer with a doughnut-type shape. Toroidal transformers provide increased design flexibility, efficiency, and compactness when compared to traditional shell , EI and core type transformers.
Toroidal type inductors and transformers are inductors & transformers which use magnetic cores with a toroidal shape. They are passive electric components, consisting of a circular ring shaped magnetic core of ferromagnetic material such as laminated iron, iron powder, or ferrite, around which winding wire is wound. Toroidal transformers are used in a wide range of electronic circuits, power supplies, inverters, stabilizers and amplifiers, which in turn are used in the vast majority of electrical equipment: TVs, radios, home appliances, computers, and audio visual systems.
