Zakrzowek artificial lake is the most beautiful wild place located in Cracow, Poland.

Until the year 1990 this place was a limestone quarry. In the 90's workers pierced the water table, and made this place to be filled with water. Now the artificial lake is 32m deep water reservoir, and the surrounding sceneries make this place wild, dangerous and extraordinarily beautiful.
The place is located close to the city centre, only 3km away from the Wawel Royal Castle. Until now it was a unique place in the heart of the city where you could feel like in the mountains far away from the civilization.
But now Zakrzowek changes its face. Investments have been started to build a large recreation center in this area. The wild character of Zakrzówek will be gone forever...
