On our way to a car meet, Monica and I ended up having some higher coolant temps which is not good. When I pulled over to investigate, I found one of my heater core hoses had burst and was spraying water all over my turbo blanket!! Luckily, we were able to nurse the car back home stopping every so often to refill the system with water. We never got above 213 degrees, and the car ran fine the whole way home (~20-30 miles). I used the opportunity to go through the cooling system, and upgrade to some silicone hoses, and replace my leaky heater pipe on the intake manifold. This caused me to have to remove the intake plenum and valve cover to get it out, but was worth it to have a leak-free cooling system. I even installed a flow restrictor to try and prevent the heater core from blowing out. We should hopefully be good for years to come! Stay Rippin'!
