Scott Glenn plays Stick, Matthew Murdock's mentor and leader of The Chaste. He teaches young Matt how to hone into his other senses since he can no longer see. After a radioactive isotope strikes his eyes, Matt acquires heightened senses of hearing, smell, touch and taste. Stick helps Matt to channel these overwhelming senses and trains him high level martial arts.

Matt in his adult years, uses his combat skills to dole out his own brand of justice. In Hells Kitchen, Matt upholds the law in the courtroom. As Daredevil he uses his physicality where the judicial system fails.
